How to use templates in PowerPoint?

When you open PowerPoint, you will be faced with a variety of design templates. Have a scroll through and find the best template for your presentation.

How to insert a text box in PowerPoint?

GoExcel

If you want to add additional information to your presentation, then why not insert a text box. Go to the insert tab and select text box. Then draw the text box onto your slide. You can now type your information into the text box.

The Palette in PowerPoint?

If you want to quickly insert a Table, Chart, SmartArt Graphic, Picture, Online Picture or Video into your slide, then instead of going to the Insert tab, why not use the Palette. You will find the Palette located on a slide.

How to insert a symbol in PowerPoint?

If you want to insert different symbols into your presentation just go to the Insert tab and select Symbol on the Ribbon. This will open a window where you can find the symbol you want. Once you have found it, select the icon and click on insert then close the window. This will now have placed the symbol into your slide.

How to highlight text?

If you want to emphasise an important word or phrase in your presentation then you can use the highlighter tool to achieve this.

Select the text you want to highlight and click on the highlighter tool. In the dropdown select the highlighter colour you want.

How to insert equations into PowerPoint?

If you need to insert equations into a presentation then why not have a look at the Equation tool. Go to the Insert tab and select Equation, and then choose the equation you want to insert into your slide.

Inserting 3D Models in PowerPoint

If you want to make your slideshows more visual, then why not insert some 3D Models. Microsoft provide a wide range of models that you can insert into your slides.

To insert a 3D Model, go to the Insert tab and select the 3D Models icon. This will open the Online 3D Models window. In the search bar, type a description of what you are looking for and press enter. Once you have found the 3D model that you want, select it and click Insert. This will now insert the 3D Model into your slide.

How to cut in PowerPoint?

If you want to move text to another location, for example a new slide, use the Cut tool. It’s easy to use, just select the text or object you want to move then go to the Home tab > Clipboard and select Cut, then click where you want the text or object to be placed and then go to Home tab > Clipboard and select Paste.

If you’re a fan of shortcuts, use CTRL + X to cut and CTRL + V to paste.

How to apply a transition to a slide.

If you want to make moving to the next slide in your presentation more exciting, then why not apply a transition. Just click on the slide you want to apply a transition to and then go to the transitions tab and choose a transition from the ribbon. It will also give you a preview of what it will look like when you come to play your presentation.
